Editorial Engagement Session Downtown Calgary: McDougall Centre

If you are looking for a beautiful location in the city of Calgary to have your photos taken, look no further. The McDougall Centre on 6th street of Downtown Calgary has an elegant look and feel and gives an old money vibe while still feeling modern editorial. In this particular case, I did an engagement shoot in Downtown Calgary with Dom & Jack, where Dom, the bride to be was wearing a stunning pink tulle dress and Jack, the groom to be wearing a brown suit jacket with dark navy trousers and a white shirt - talk about beautifully classic.

Truly the best part that this building has to offer is variety. From big stunning arches and stone stairways, to golden elevators, green grassy fields and vintage street lamps, there is so much you can do and with endless creativity.

I would highly recommend a Sunday evening, as the city is slow and not much is happening. There is a chance you may be fighting a few other photographers with the same idea, but I would take that over having an overcrowded amount of people in the background.

I also suggest trying different spots and watching for lighting, when the sun begins to set it leaves a beautiful shadow over the West facing side of the building in the spring time.
